RUSD HOLDS FAMILY WELLNESS AND RESOURCE FAIR AT THE CÉSAR E. CHÁVEZ COMMUNITY CENTER AND DEBUTS NEW RESOURCE ROOM
April 28, 2022
On April 20, Riverside Unified School District’s Family Resource Center, in collaboration with the Riverside County Office of Education and the City of Riverside, hosted a Wellness and Resource Fair at the César Chávez Community Center. The purpose of the event was to connect RUSD families to the variety of resources available to them. The Family Resource Center also debuted their new resource room within the community center.
Families were treated to free Kona Ice while perusing the many booths, which included Big Brothers Big Sisters, physical and nutrition resources, and the Riverside County Office of Education's free book giveaway in support of its Literacy by 5th Grade initiative.
“The Family Wellness and Resource Fair provided an opportunity to bring the community together with 25 community partners to support student learning and wellness,” said Gabriela Alonso, Coordinator of School, Family & Community Partnerships. “Connecting students and families with district and community resources is a priority for RUSD.”
The new resource room at the César Chávez Community Center is open Monday and Wednesday from 8:00 - 4:30 p.m. Additional hours are available by appointment. Visit the website or call (951) 328-4003.
The RUSD Family Resource Center provides individualized family support services and programs to support the Riverside Community. Its mission is to integrate community resources and services to support student learning and development, reinforce family practices, and leverage school activities through community partnerships.
